Most of the time, feedback is an unwanted, largely shunned phenomena. But when harnessed, controlled feedback can sound hair-raisingly sweet. Guitarists and bassists who want to tame the beast are forced to overdrive their amp or mount a purpose-built pickup to their guitars. As such, if you prefer to play at a lower volume and you're not exactly excited by the prospect of possibly defacing your beloved instrument, feedback will forever elude you. Unless, of course, you add a Digitech FreqOut Natural Feedback Creator stompbox to your board. This smart little box wrangles that sweet sounding, natural feedback on your behalf.
The FreqOut: Feedback for Days
Seven differently flavoured feedback types are laid out and most are simply numbered: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th (who needs a 4th), Nat Low and Sub. Once you've picked your favourite, the Onset mini-pot controls how fast you want the feedback to begin and the Gain pot determines the intensity. A Dry switch is included that completely removes all dry signal, or not, and a final but welcome detail is that the FreqOut has a true bypass circuit for clean signal, even when deactivated.

Ik gebruik hem in combinatie met basgitaar. Dit pedaal is waanzinnig.
Super pedaal. Geeft veel feedback en Sustain. Gebruikt het met name als vervanger van het typische Fernández Sustainer en Sustaniac geluid wat bijvoorbeeld Muse veelvoudig gebruikt in hun gitaarspel.
Ik zelf gebruik het pedaal in de fx loop van de Line 6 Helix. Omdat ik veelal op huiskamer niveau speel zonder te veel distortion is het wat moeilijker om gitaar feedback te krijgen. Dat is dus met dit pedaal totaal geen probleem.
Wilde dit pedal al hebben toen de eerste demo's op YouTube verschenen. Het doet inderdaad wat het beloofd, feedback op elk volume. Ik plaats de Freqout voor mijn overdrive zodat het feedback signaal ook door de overdrive gaat, anders klinkt het wat onrealistisch. Verder is het de bekende Digitech kwaliteit, stevig, robuust en helaas de input/output aan de zijkant ipv aan de bovenkant .

I would seriously class this as a must have pedal. As useful as a compressor, delay, reverb or boost.
In this day and age it is very common to perform live with VERY low stage volume. (I actually have no stage volume - totally line/front of house).
This makes decorative feedback almost impossible to attain.
With the Digitech Freqout you can create perfectly natural feedback on demand. better than the real thing in my humble opinion.
This is a perfect pedal.
